Our First heart warming project in the midst of Bedugul, land of rolling mountains, cold weather and beautiful Lake. The client’s brief and vision was to create a resting place serving Bali’s home made chocolate and desert specially created by Client’s team.
The design started out right from the branding of Chocolate House, to the usage of eco friendly materials and nuances that imbued the idea of a warm house. As the 2 storeys existing building was already previously built, the challenge was to mask and revamp the facade to suit the new brand.
Modern materials of white steel structure and glass were chosen for the canopy which extends out like a floating element welcoming the guests. The perimeter of the building is covered with layers of plants to mask the heaviness of existing stone facade.
All the interior furniture and product display were specially designed selecting materials specific for the tone of the spaces. The Chocolate lobby is where the entire space is made of 1 material reminiscent of old factory using dark ulin beams and wood chip boards for product walls. The cashier is a humble concrete finished nook.
The Choc lounge has a darker ambience to enjoy a fireplace during cold nights in Bedugul with warmer darker tones of interior and furniture.
On the 2nd storey, there are 2 outdoor areas, one functions as a kid’s play area with cute designed furniture in tones similar to Choc House product colours and the other side is an semi outdoor cafe area to enjoy the mountain and lake view while sipping your hot chocolate.
