Detailed surprises emerge throughout the lobby of a building in the Thamrin vicinity, Jakarta. The lobby area comes in a small package yet exudes unparalleled splendor.
In spite of its slight dimension, the lobby area is far from being cramped and congested. On the contrary, the lobby of UOB building appears grand with its lofty ceiling that spans three levels. the room’s classy look is achieved through the use of soft colors and illumination.
Black and grey marble floors are spread randomly along the lobby area. Instead of looking disorderly, the random placement of the marble floors adds a more organic look to the place. In keeping with the floors, the lobby is flanked on the right and left with marble walls in the shade of mocha cream. Further inside the lobby, a receptionist desk is positioned on the left side. Made of a beautifully arranged block of sandstones, the desk resembles a composition of marble stones attached to the wall. The sandstone blocks were aesthetically chosen to create a symmetrically plan.
The grandness of the lobby area is enhanced with the addition of perforated timber skin which is sprawled from the drop off zone to the ceilings and upper walls. The pierced wooden board brings out warmth to the high traffic area located adjacent to the rows of lifts
